Alexandra Templier is a multidisciplinary vocal artist based in Tio’tia:ke/Mooniyang /Montréal. In search of a holistic artistic experience, she combines her master’s project research in metaphysics and contemporary poetics (Sorbonne University, Paris) with her intimate exploration of the human voice through singing (opera, flamenco singing, Indian classical singing, Indian vocal percussion, improvisation) and the body in motion (professional training in theatre and somatic movement).

Winner of a first prize for an emerging singer at the flamenco festival Suma Flamenca in Madrid – where she lived, trained and performed as a flamenco soloist for five years – her theatre and music projects have been performed in Europe (France, Spain), Africa (Algeria) and Quebec.

With support from MAI (Montréal Arts Interculturels), the Conseil des Arts de Montréal, the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec and the Canada Council for the Arts, Alexandra channels her diverse artistic background into multidisciplinary creations that connect with the audience on an intimate level,   questioning our habits of perception in order to re-enchant our relationship with the living.
