Convivencia

CONVIVENCIA (Cohabiting) is a project that combines flamenco music and dance with Sufi music. Caroline Planté (flamenco guitar), Alexandra Templier (flamenco singing), Lamia Yared (classical Arabic singing) and Miguel Medina (percussion) join forces with flamenco dancer and dervish Shraddha D. Blaney. In a spirit of cohabiting,   their musical journey takes in Seville, Cordoba and Granada while drawing inspiration from the glorious era of Al Andalus and the energy of contemporary Andalusia. Flamenco is juxtaposed with Sufi music and dervish dance, creating an artistic experience as powerful and profound as it is subtle. All this while embodying the concept of openness and respect towards others – exactly what convivencia is all about.
